eHow Drops Writer's Compensation Program

eHow announced today that it will no longer be accepting articles through its writer's compensation program (WCP). With the sweeping and removal of articles to the recent U.K. redirects, photo problems and the inability to publish anything for the past few weeks, this probably should not come as a big surprise to the eHow community.

Some writers are being offered pre-approval to Demand Studios, which will now exclusively publish all how to articles on eHow. Those who are not approved and want to write for eHow will have to submit an application with a resume and writing sample. Anyone writing for Demand Studios will have their articles reviewed by copy-editors.

The new pay structure will be either revenue sharing or on a flat fee. Articles written before the change will still earn revenue, but writers can not submit articles after the close date which is April 13th.
